The Big Idea: 27th – 29th May

On 27th – 29th May, Arena Church will be taking to the streets of Ilkeston and serving our community in a range of practical ways such as gardening, cleaning, painting, decorating and fixing. We will also be running a variety of community events in a number of locations across the town.

We will keep you posted on the website with further info, but at this stage, it’s safe to say that this will be an monumental weekend, not only for Arena Church, but also for the town of Ilkeston.

The Big Idea is really just a reflection of the Biggest Idea the world has ever seen – namely, that the God of all creation would send his only Son to die on a cross for the sins of mankind. Jesus taught, and indeed demonstrated, that we should serve others.

Please contact us if you require more info about the Big Idea.

Week of Miracles

From Monday 24 – Friday 28 January, Arena Church will be holding 5 days of Prayer and fasting. We are encouraging everyone to get involved by committing themselves to pray at regular times throughout the days for breakthroughs and miracles both personally and corporately. We are also encouraging people to commit themselves to fast over this period. On the Friday evening, 28th January, we will meet together at Arena Church, Ilkeston at 7.30pm for our Prayer Celebration evening.

- We have attached a concise simple guide to fasting -

Here are the 6 Areas that we would like you to pray into….

- Increase of momentum and presence of God.

- Miracles of healing for the sick, broken relationships to be mended, financial turnarounds, addictions broken and life changing salvation amongst friends and family and salvation to visit the towns of Ilkeston and Mansfield.

- Protection over children, young people and marriages.

- Protection for Arena Pastors/ leaders and emerging leaders.

- Expansive GROWTH at Mansfield, Ilkeston and into the Community ministries.

- Blessing to rest upon the people of God in all areas particularly financial in this “year of recession”

Remember Pray to God , your Father in Heaven and PRAY Simply / Honestly / Expectantly / Confidently and Specifically [Matthew 7 v7] / [Matthew 6 v 5 -8] / [James 1 v 6] / [Hebrews 11 v 6]. God is ready and able to do immeasurably MORE that all we can ask or imagine [Ephesians 3 v 20]

Please read this important message from Lead Pastor, Kristian Thorpe:

Hi Gang

Well I promised you an adventure and we are having one!

We heard this week the Mansfield Town FC  ground owner has padlocked the gates so no-one can get in!! (The politics i do not want to get involved in) Therefore, we have a change of venue for this week only.

The details are: The Towers, Botany Avenue, Mansfield, NG18 5NG (off Sutton Rd near to the Bold Forester Pub and the Bus Station storage garage) see www.towersdirect.co.uk for further information. The service this Sunday 5th December is at 6pm as normal and there will be a Kids’ Programme too.

Thanks go to the management of The Towers for helping us at such short notice! I will let you know what the arrangements are for the 12th and 19th of December next week!

I was reminded today of a significant church in the US that met in 52 different locations before it found a permanent place to meet!  We are pilgrims on a journey. I am excited for what God has in store for us. God is for us.

From an excited Pastor

Kristian x
