Arena Kids is a fantastic children’s programme that runs every Sunday morning.

Here at Arena Church we love children and have a dedicated programme to engage and excite our children from 0 to school Year 6. We believe that children are precious and important to God and the sessions we have on a Sunday morning are more than babysitting, we aim to help children where they are at and give them life lessons that will help them right into adulthood.  We want our children to have fun, make friends and find out about Jesus, to equip them for the challenges and joys of their life journey.

For the under 3s we also have Arena Tots, where the focus is on play and craft activities.

The first Sunday of every month is Arena Kids Unleashed at Ilkeston, where the kids are with us for the whole service.

Safeguarding children is our highest priority. All our Arena Kids volunteers are interviewed and DBS checked, and receive ongoing Child Protection training.

It is our privilege to have a part in teaching kids about Jesus.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,

for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

Louise Bussell has been a part of the Arena Kids team since 2017, and has been the Kids Pastor since March 2021. She has been working with children in churches for over 20 years. In 2002, Louise qualified as a primary school teacher and has been in education ever since.

FAQ’S AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION

What happens in Kids Church?

Most Sundays, Arena Kids will start with a drink and snack. Then we will take some time to catch up on each others weeks and share any exciting news. Once snacks have been finished and news has been shared we play some games followed by singing and dancing. Whilst everyone gets their breath back the leader will share some thoughts about stories in the bible or the life of Jesus and we think about how this can help us. Afterwards, we pray and ask God to be with us during the week and finally finish off with some sort of craft or art activity.

What is Arena Kids like at my campus?

Belper – Sunday 10:30am

Our Belper campus runs Arena Kids, again for primary aged children, every Sunday, headed up by our wonderful Sarah. The children are taken out part way through the service to enjoy their program in the newly refurbished cabin.

Ilkeston – Sunday 10:30am

At our Ilkeston campus we run Arena Kids for primary aged children and Arena Tots for 0 to 4 year olds. All the children are in the service and leave part way through the service to join their children’s programmes. Additionally, on the first Sunday of every month, Arena Kids runs Unleashed, which is an event that runs for the whole duration of the service; this is a morning of fun, worship, crafts and games.

Mansfield – Sunday 10:30am

At our Mansfield campus we have Arena Kids, for primary aged children. This is held every Sunday, with our lovely team headed up by Liv.  The children are taken out part way through the service to join their children’s programme. Also, for children under 4 there is an unmanned creche that parents are free to make use of.

Nottingham – Sunday 7pm

In the heart of Nottingham city our Arena Kids group is growing and the children are given in service activities to complete and from time to time are taken out of the service to take part in something a little more noisy.

How do we get our children involved?

It would be great to see you and your family at any of our campuses. If you would like to, you can  register and give consent for your child before you come by completing the following form – but don’t worry  if not, you can also do it on the day. Then you can just turn up and we will do the rest!

Register here.

What about safeguarding?

Safeguarding children is our highest priority. All of our Arena Kids volunteers are interviewed and DBS checked, and receive ongoing Child Protection training.
